  • There are several classical vocal concerts at lunchtime in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre.
    • On the 6th it’s the annual Wirth prize winner erecital.  This year it’s mezzo-soprano Jingjing Xu with Christopher Knopp on piano.
    • There are concerts by members of the Ensemble Studio on the 21st and 28th.
    • On the 26th there are staged excerpts from Opera Atelier’s upcoming All is Love.

  • On the 16th the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir are performing an arrangement of Schubert’s Winterreise with baritone Brett Polegato at Trinity St. Paul’s.

Theatre

  • Soulpepper are presenting an adaptation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters by Inua Ellams setting it in Nigeria on the eve of the Biafran War.  Previews start February 29th with official opening on March 7th running to the 17th.
  • On the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Fraggle Rock Puppeteer Ingrid Hansen has a “spicy” adult show, Epidermis Circus at Sweet Action Theatre.  Sounds completely nuts!
  • Crow’s Theatre’s Dana H will actually play at Factory Theatre.  Previews are the 11th to the 14th with opening on the 15th running until April 7th.
  • Canadian Stage have the epic The Inheritance at the Bluma Appel Theatre.  It reimagines E.M. Forster’s Howards End as a contemporary portrait of the generation after the height of the AIDS crisis.  I said epic because it runs over two long evenings.  Previews start on March 22nd with Part 1 opening on March 27th and Part 2 the following night.  The run goes on until April 14th.
