Here’s what’s coming down for the holiday season, as best I know:

• December 3rd sees the Ensemble Studio performing a lunchtime concert in the RBA.
• Soundstreams has a concert called Invocations on December 5th at the Jane Mallet Theatre.
• Also on the 5th Oraculum opens at Buddies in Bad Times.  Previews are the 1st and 3rd and the run extends to the 15th.
• On the 8th Opera Revue have BACH Humbug at the Redwood; the antidote to holiday music.
• Confluence have their annual Young Associate curated gig at Heliconian on the 10th.
• VOCES8 are appearing at Koerner Hall on the 13th.

There are several shows continuing including The Master Plan at the Young Centre and The Bidding War at Crow’s.  And there are a wide range of family options for people who want the old fashoned panto vibe, probably with added Trump jokes.

And of course there are Messiahs.  No Electric Messiah this year but the TSO go on December 17th to 22nd at Roy Thomson with Jean-Sebastian Vallée conducting.  The soloists are unfamiliar to me.  Tafelmusik have theirs on Deember 20th and 21st at Koerner Hall with rather more recognisable soloists.  There’s also the sing-along version at Massey Hall on December 22nd.  I’m sure there are lots of other options.
