March 2nd at 2pm Barbara Hannigan is doing a workshop at UoT focussed on Hans Abrahamsen’s new work Let me tell you. It’s at Walter Hall and it’s free. The work itself will get its North American premier on March 4th with Barbara and the TSO at Roy Thomson Hall.
The last weekend in March sees a a couple of events organised by the International Resource Center for Performing Artists. On the 27th and 28th there’s Encounter; a two day event for singers with the Metropolitan Opera’s Joan Dornemann. As I understand the goal is to help emerging artists make realistic career decisions. There’s more information at ircpa.net. The cost for singers is $200 for the two days. One can also observe; $25 for one session, $80 for all four. Less for IRCPA members. It’s being held at McLaughlin Studio at the COC complex on Front Street. On Sunday 29th there’s another event called Who’s Who in the Industry. It runs from 2-5pm at the Centre for Social Innovation on Bathurst. Cost is $25 or $20 for members.
