More details from Toronto Operetta Theatre

Charlotte-Knight_Soprano_Headshot_2014-(1)Subscriptions are now on sale for Toronto Operetta Theatre.  The line up has changed from the original spring announcement.  There are still three shows but the run of Candide previously announced has been replaced with a single concert performance, with piano accompaniment of Gilbert and Sullivan’s HMS Pinafore.  It’s at 3pm on November 1st.  The main attraction (pun absolutely intended) is probably Greg Finney as Sir Joseph Porter KCB.  There’s also Charlotte Knight as Josephine.

The holiday season show is Romberg’s The Student Prince.  There are five shows; 8pm performances on December 28th and 31st (gala) and 3pm matinees on December 27th, January 2nd and 3rd.  Curtis Sullivan (with or without shirt) will sing Dr. Engel, Stefan Fehr will be Count Detleff and Jennifer Taverner (yea!) will play Kathie opposite Ernesto Ramirez as the Prince.

The spring brings a zarzuela in the form of Guerreros’ Los Gavilanes.  Four shows for this one on April 27th and 29th at 8pm and April 30th and May 1st at 3pm.  The main attraction here is Miriam Kahlil as Rosaura.

All shows are at the Jane Mallett Theatre at the St. Lawrence Centre.
