I got a press release for this and thought Gosh this sound awful. The accompanying copy put me right off. Dido as a girl-boss? Please.
“At the same time, we emphasize the discord and struggles female-identifying and gender diverse people experience as they rise up in society”. You mean women? The world you’re looking for is women, perchance? Smdh
There is definitely a whiff of academic earnestness about the whole project. There’s a ot of it about in the opera world right now!
