Opera, Concerts etc
- April 3rd. Bach’s St. John Passion is playing at Metropolitan United.
- April 4th. There’s a bicycle powered percussion and multi-media show at That Arts Group Black Box Theatre. Thomas Li will perform Fish Yu’s Three Bagel-tales of DAIWAN and his own new solo multimedia work Pedal Memory.
- April 9th. Soundstreams present I Want to Tell You Everything: An Anthology of Love Songs at the Jane Mallett Theatre.
- April 10th – 12th. Against the Grain present Canuck Cantatas; a programme of three new mini-operas, at the Redwood Theatre.
- April 15th, 16th, 18th and 19th. Opera Atelier present Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande at Koerner Hall.
- April 17th, 18th and 19th Toronto Operetta Theatre have A Night in Venice at the Jane Mallett Theatre.
- On the afternoon of the 19th The Music of Golijjov concert from 21C that was snowed off is rescheduled for Mazzoleni Hall.
- April 25th. The COC opens a run of the Bluebeard’s Castle/Erwartung double bill at the Four Seasons Centre. There are six more performances ending May 16th.
Theatre
- April 2nd. Buddies opens a double bill of Kainchee Lagaa and Jhooti: The Begging Brown Bitch Plays. There’s a preview on April 1st and it runs to the 18th.
- April 8th. Riot King open a run of the Gothic comedy The Moors at the Theatre Centre. Previews start on the 3rd and the run goes until the 19th.
- There are two openings on April 15th. Canstage open Clyde’s at the Bluma Appel Theatre (previews start on the 11th and the run goes to the 26th). Meanwhile Crow’s also open Mary, Mary, Mary, Mary. (previews start on the 7th and it runs until May 3rd).
- April 23rd. Andrew Kushnir’s The Division opens in the Studio Theatre at Crow’s. Previews 21st and 22nd and running until May 17th.
- April 30th. Soulpepper opens How to Catch Creation at the Young Centre. Previews start on the 23rd and the run continues to May 17th.
